Our schools have continued to maintain National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA). This is one of the highest achievements in our field and confirms that we are delivering on our promise of providing quality early childhood education.
Rosewood Academy’s lead teachers are the veterans in years of experience and hold a variety of credentials through the Florida Department of Children and Families. Many also have an associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and even advanced degrees. Assistant teachers have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and work under the direction of a lead teacher. All employees working with children have taken a minimum of 45 hours of basic childcare classes and are certified in CPR/First Aid. Through our Rosewood University, we also offer frequent training classes and continuing education opportunities for all of our teaching and management staff.
Our preschoolers’ days are filled with early learning and individualized curriculum geared toward improving their communication skills. They’ll also grow and develop through arts and crafts, music and healthy outdoor play on our over sized playgrounds. We frequently bring educational programs from the community to supplement our regular curriculum, too, including visits from educators at the Jacksonville Zoo. Infants and toddlers also have curriculum and activities geared toward strengthening their minds and bodies. Check out our Facebook pages to see the types of activities we’ve enjoyed most recently (Rosewood Academy San Pablo, Rosewood Academy Bartram Park). We also publish a monthly calendar, which is available to all caregivers in the Parent Portal on the website. When you come for a tour, please ask for details about a typical schedule for a classroom in your child’s age group.
Our schools use a blended curriculum for all ages to assure we meet state standards for each age level, while supplementing to make the most of your child’s learning ability. Our lesson plans pull from Learn Everyday and Creative Curriculum school wide, plus Baby Doll Circle Time for Infants through K2 and Early Literacy and Learning Model Plus (ELLM/Plus) for our 3-, 4- and 5-year olds. Themes are introduced seasonally and weekly which teach the alphabet, colors, numbers and other skills. Visit our Curriculum page to learn more about the education in your child’s particular age group.
Rosewood Academy follows the federal food plate guidelines when planning the weekly menu. We offer a nutritious breakfast and lunch daily, plus two snacks, which are included in tuition. We provide organic milk and offer fresh fruits and vegetables. Our schools are very conscientious of food allergies and do not allow any form of nuts in the center. You’ll find our monthly menu in the Parent Portal of the website.
The Florida Department of Children and Families provides specific criteria for child-teacher ratios and Rosewood Academy stays within those ratios at all times.
Yes. All classrooms and playgrounds are equipped with video cameras. If there is ever any question about a child’s care, our director will meet with parents to review video footage. For security reasons, we do not provide online accessibility to live videos, but parents are welcome to drop in during center hours and observe their child from their classroom window.
Because we specialize in serving the needs of children ages six weeks to five years, we do not offer a before and after school program.
The Florida Department of Children & Families offers several helpful checklists and background on their Parent Resources page.
Rosewood Academy believes in providing a variety of activities to stimulate learning. This may include Spanish, stretching and relaxation as well as fitness education like jumping jacks. Our spacious playgrounds act as extensions to the classroom with tunnels, slides, bikes and other resources for development of the whole child. We also introduce technology to certain approved age groups. There is so much more that defies description. Please visit our center and discover for yourself!
We may not always have immediate openings in certain age groups, so it’s best to plan ahead. If space for your child is not immediately available, you can ask to be included on our “wait” list. We take your name and contact information and will keep you updated on a date for admission. Waiting time varies by the age group, but any of our management team members will be happy to answer your questions in detail.
